Clock going backwards ?

I can’t believe that it’s only lunchtime. Time seems to be going backwards or at the very least, standing still. I’ve just taken a can of Red Bull on board in an attempt to brighten me up and stop me nodding off at my desk. Early morning weekend calls from hospitals have a tendency to disrupt your sleep pattern.
NFL games on the radio on a Sunday evening also have a tendency to keep you up way past a sensible bedtime due to the time difference with the US. I’m a Jets fan (so definitely not a glory hunter) and they had Cleveland this week which was a 4.15 kickoff Eastern time - 9.15pm our time. Disappointingly they lost 20-13 and my resolve to be a fan of any sport is gradually starting to wane after the sporting weekend I’ve just had.
I’ve just spent 20 mins of my lunch hour ordering a couple of books on Amazon. I’ve developed a fascination with the First World War over the years (I think as a result of a particularly fascinating year studying it at school where the sheer enjoyment of the topic has never left me) and have ordered a couple of books by an author called Lyn MacDonald. They review well so I’m sure they won’t disappoint.
Back to the grind. I’m finishing at 5. I could almost enjoy it if I didn’t have 60 miles worth of driving to do this evening, taking my Grandmother to the hospital and back. I’ll be home by 9.30pm and immediately try and salvage something of my night by staying up late. The whole bloody tiredness cycle will then start again. I can’t win.
