Joyeux Noel/Mike Dickin R.I.P.

I’m suspecting I won’t be around much in coming days so I just want to wish all my (handful of) readers a Merry Christmas. I’ll probably be back in time to wish you all a Happy New Year.

I’ve posted a similar message over on my Marillion blog - Splintering Heart. This is something I set up earlier this year as a co-operative Marillion weblog where fans could contribute articles, information and diary entries on their experiences regarding the band and the music. It didn’t however take off quite as quickly as I hoped though and I’m left with a bit of an empty feeling regarding it. I’ll keep my fingers crossed though.

On a sad note, I was very shocked to hear of the passing of Mike Dickin, the Talksport DJ earlier this week. Mike was killed in a car crash near his home. His death leaves a huge hole in talk radio in the UK. I used to enjoy Mike’s shows immensely, especially when he hosted the 10am - 1pm slot on weekdays. His grumpy old man persona was simply incredible and brightened up days at work. Thanks for everything Mike.

This is kind of a random comment, but I wanted to say thanks for the comment you left me. And now I’m stoked to learn that you live in Scotland! I’m off to subscribe to your blog now, lol.
