Merry War (Christmas is over)

So that will be Christmas then. Been and gone. Christmas ended up being a round of hospital visits and general driving about. We took my Grandma to see my Grandad on Christmas morning. It was the first time they had seen each other in 4 weeks so it was quite upsetting for everyone. Presents were exchanged and a few tears were shed. We then had to leave which created a bit of a scene as her illness is becoming more advanced and she is easily distressed and quite uncooperative these days. It left a bit of a bad taste to be honest and we are now questioning the wisdom of the trip, particularly given that she cannot now remember going.

The other days have been spent lolling about in armchairs watching TV and eating stuff. Which is nice. Last night I attempted my first recipe from the Wagamama cookbook which my wife bought me for Christmas. Chicken Ramen. It turned out OK although I really should have read the instructions on making the stock a bit more closely as it was slightly bland. I’ll know better next time though.

Today will be spent mostly learning ASP.net 2.0 which is essential for a project I will begin to manage at work from next week. Thankfully I don’t return to work until the 4th of January. A good few more sleeps before then….

This will likely be my last post of 2006 so I just want to wish all of you and your familes all the best for 2007. Slainte.
