Holland here I come

I’m totally excited today. In less than 24 hours I’ll be in Holland. We’ll be on the Marillo-bus from Schipol airport to Port Zelande and the Marillion Weekend 2007 will truly have begun for my self and another 3,500 like minded souls.

I can’t wait for tomorrow nights show. A full rendetion of the ‘This Strange Engine’ album from start to finish. Even the vaguely awful ‘Hope For The Future’ sounds appealing. By that stage I’ll have many a Heineken inside me and I’ll be in party mode.

Two years ago I went to Minehead for the 2005 weekend and I arrived on my own and not knowing anyone. Now 2 years later I know a plethora of fans from around the globe and have met many in person for some good nights out.

The Marillion fanbase is a really tight-knit group of fans. Add to that the close involvement of the band and the level of access we are given to them both in person and in terms of information then the Marillion Weekend becomes the sort of event that all music lovers should campaign for their favourite band to host. 3 Marillion shows in as many days with a large number of support bands, beer and yer mates. Can it get any better than this?
