I survived the Marillion weekend, although I’m not sure my liver is yet 100%. It was great to see the boys play 3 nights in a row, even though I was not overly impressed with the cover version night. I appreciate however the need to keep these weekends fresh in an attempt to avoid just repeating the same format so I’m not too disappointed.
Returning from the weekend forced me to face up to the reality that my Grandfather is dying. He could basically go at any time. Nothing can prepare you for the stress of such a thing. It’s a worry every time the phone rings. I find myself sitting with him and panicking every time he lies very still.
He’s on a heavy does of morphine as he has now developed Gangrene in both legs. Not nice. It is causing him some severe pain and as a result of the painkiller he is just a delirious mess most of the time. I’m praying that the end is quick and painless. Such a beautiful human being shouldn’t be made to suffer the way he has.
On a lighter note, I have a new job. I am moving to a small company in the city centre to become a Web Accessibility Consultant. Obviously it’s scary to be moving to a small company after so long working for big organisations but it’s time for a change. Onwards and upwards.
