Spam fritters/Markityville horror

Recently this blog has been inundated with spam comments. I’ve looked at various means of preventing this but I seem to have some issues on my server with uploading a Wordpress plugin to prevent it. Anyone reading this blog must think that I have an extensive network of Russian pharmacists as friends. I must try and get it sorted this weekend.
Anyway, I digress. Sometimes you do things in life which seem like a good idea at the time. 4 months later they come back to haunt you. My mother is a great fan of the supernatural TV show ‘Most Haunted’ so when I saw an ad for a ‘Most Haunted’ type overnight vigil in Edinburgh’s Blair Street Vaults I knew immediately that it was the ideal christmas present for her.

Now here is the sting. When I suggested it to my Dad as a present for her, he said it was a great idea but she was unlikely to go on her own with a bunch of strangers. Cue my bright idea of suggesting that my wife buy me a ticket for Christmas as well.

So now, come Saturday night, I will be plunged into the centuries old ‘undercity’ which has been the subject of some fairly scary stories in recent years, with supposed malevolent entities attacking visitors to the vaults. People have heard voices telling them to ‘get out’ and some have been physically attacked. I’m still fairly convinced that nothing will happen and it will all be a bit of a damp squib, however with two days to go, I am now beginning to question my reasoning in deciding to spend from midnight-6am on a Saturday night/Sunday morning in a haunted underground labyrinth.

Time to dig out a crucifix I reckon.
