What a lot of shite.

1000 litres of shite per second to be precise. That’s the amount of shite that is currently pouring into the Firth of Forth, not more than a mile from where I sit. Furthermore, it’s been pouring in since Friday teatime which is a lot of seconds and hence a lot of thousands of litres. Seems that a valve is stuck at Seafield sewerage processing plant and basically shite, bog roll and all other associated nasties are thundering out into the beautiful Forth like a brown Niagara falls.

Excuse me for being graphic here, but the mental image is necessary to conjure up the sheer horror of the situation. It’s starting to look like a fairly large, if localised environmental disaster. Wildlife will be affected and so on. Plus, the area around the plant stinks as it is, without thousands of litres of effluent firing into the sea. It must be unbearable for those who live in the immediate area, especially now that the weather is getting warmer.
