Nothing to see

That’s twice I’ve been to Manchester and twice I’ve seen nothing of the city. In 1998, I was sent to Wythenshawe to look at a printer. I flew down in the dodgiest propellor plane, then jumped in a taxi to the company I was visiting. I viewed the printer then taxi and plane back. I didn’t see anything.

This time, I only saw the three streets between Manchester Piccadilly station and the Britannia hotel. In fact, every time I get sent to one of Britain’s major cities with work, I see nothing of the city itself. Leeds is another burning example. I went on a course there last year and again only saw the street between my hotel and the course.

This travelling with work lark isn’t as glamorous as people think it is.

Ah Manchester, the good old Britannia Hotel where all the hookers stand at the back of the building looking for clients! Will be in Glasgow this Wednesday evening and then Belfast on Thursday. And would you believe visiting Leeds at the beginning of June!
