Sunshine on Leith

It was sunny this morning when I left the house. Cheered me right up it did. Well, until the first splat of dried in puke that I discovered about 100 yards up Leith Walk. I got to thinking this morning that I see the same people walking the opposite direction every morning. I time myself against them (I must be late. I usually pass that beardy bloke much further up the road etc etc). I wonder if they time themselves against me? I daresay they must wonder about my erratic dress sense. Some days it’s shirt and trousers, others a t-shirt and jeans. I can reliably inform them that it’s purely down to my laziness with regards to ironing.

The onset of summer has made it a pleasure to walk into work (puke aside). The sun sparkles off the old buildings and I feel alive. After the mile and a half walk into the city centre I am buzzing. All set for a days work.

Tonight I’m off to see Ray Wilson at the Exchange in Grove Street. Ray used to be the singer in Genesis after baldy Phil Collins left. Then they shafted him and he went back to being a solo artist, occassionally performing with his band Stiltskin (famous for a Levis jeans ad in 1994). Should be a good night.
