Wandering home down Leith Walk on Friday night, I couldn’t help but be gobsmacked by the new sign which has been erected at Pilrig Church, the ancient boundary of the old city of Leith before it was swallowed up by Edinburgh.
“Welcome to Leith. Twinned with Rio de Janiero.”
I can just imagine a load of Brazilians standing at the corresponding sign on the outskirts of Rio.
“Onde a foda é Leith?”
If I ever manage to work out how to get the photo off my mobile phone and on to my PC then I will post it here for all to see and chuckle at.
