Oh dear

I don’t usually comment on gay issues. It tends to be a minefield where the wrong turn of phrase can land you in a lot of trouble. Mainly though, I don’t comment on gay issues because frankly I don’t really care what people get up to in their private life. Life is short and you should do what makes you happy. I’ve enough going on in my own life to be concerning myself about exactly who the guy next door is bumping toilet parts with.

I always however, comment on stupidity issues and this guy really takes the biscuit. What exactly was he thinking?

To summarise, a Gay artist burns a rare copy of the Koran worth $60,000 as a work of art/gay rights protest. Now first of all, taking sexuality and religious issues out of the picture, burning books is not cool. Especially burning old and valuable books. Even less cool however is burning the Koran. A gay man burning the Koran however, is downright suicidal. Not the most liberal of religions at the best of times, homosexuality is high on the Islamic hitlist, presumably ranking up there on a par with Danish magazine editors.

Someone should really have taken him aside before hand and told him that it will all end in tears.
