I’m starting to lose track of the number of live albums which my roaring, cheering, dulcit tones now appear on. Back in 1989, I was in the crowd for two live releases, namely Marillion’s “Theiving Magpie” and Helloween’s “Live in the UK”. After that, my live album cameo appearances dried up and it wasn’t until 2005’s “Marbles By The Sea” that I first featured again. “Smoke” and “Mirrors” followed shortly afterwards before my vocal chords made their first live DVD appearance on “Bootleg Butlins”.
Now, in August 2007, my latest live album opus has arrived on my doorstep in the form of Marillion’s “Friends” and it’s sister album “Family”. Recorded at the 2007 Marillion Weekend in Port Zeelande in Holland, these albums are amazing. I’m sure they wouldn’t be quite as good without my glorious background vocals though……….
