A busy week

I’ve gone from updating daily to updating sporadically in the last week or two. Sometimes I guess I just hit blogging blanks. I suppose the key is to be fine with that and accept that in the same way that you don’t want to phone all your mates on a daily basis and tell them your news, you don’t necessarily want to post in your blog every day either.

Since I last wrote, I’ve enjoyed a weekend. Which was nice. Since giving up my Hearts season ticket this season, I’ve been finding myself at a bit of a loose end on a Saturday. I enjoy a good game of football though and I decided to go to see Spartans v CS Strollers in the East Of Scotland League Cup at City Park. Never the most glamorous of venues, City Park is still one of the better grounds in the EOSL. So there is no covered enclosure or terrace but there is no dog shite or rubbish either. Pissing rain on Saturday made City Park even less glamorous than it should be. The crowd of around 100 nested beneath a sea of brollies. A 2-0 victory for The Spartans though so my journey into Scottish Non-League football this season got off to a winning start. Only £4 to get in as opposed to around £25 a game at Tynecastle. Bargain.

Sunday consisted of an ‘Active Birthing Workshop’. Lots of massage, breathing exercises and practising of birthing positions made for an unusual day if an overly lengthy one in places. It was odd to be in the room with so many other pregnant couples. The realisation that all of the babies in this room would be born in the same year and potentially go to school together, grow up together etc seemed to bring home the responsibility of having a child. One day in the future some of these kids could be sitting in this room ready to have THEIR first child. Life carries on ad infinitum. On a shallower note. The biscuits were nice. Oaty.

Back to work today. It’s a busy week with one thing and another. I’ll try and write when I can.

I often suffer from “Bloggers Block” and then the following week it all comes back. Wait till your baby is born; 3am the baby is keeping you awake, you’ll have plenty to say on the blog then!
