Noah’s Ark

Ok. I’m sick of rain. It’s getting biblical at this stage. It’s not stopped raining for any length of time for what seems like the last week. Add to that the fact that the second week of our summer holiday was predominantly rainy and you can see why I’m starting to feel like the Ancient Mariner with his “Water, Water everywhere”.

Water in general is my nemesis at the moment. We rent out a flat in the city centre and recently have had new tenants move in. In the short time since they’ve been there, their neighbour has accidentally turned off their mains supply, the boiler has packed in, leaving them with no hot water and the torrential rains have resulted in water pouring into their living room trhough the ceiling, due to the roof drainage not being able to handle such torrents.

I’m telling you, Noah had the right idea. When it starts raining, bugger off with a load of giraffes and monkeys on a big boat and don’t come back until it stops.

Thing is, there is a shortage of giraffes in Edinburgh.

Nah, it’s the Festival. There’s bound to be a giraffe or two around somewhere if you look hard enough. In a puddle, probably.
